Abstract

Provides clearer advice on the policy of "toleration" towards unauthorised gypsy encampments. Offers revised guidance on the provisions in sections 77–79 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, drawing a clear distinction between unauthorised camping where there are no problems and no criminal offence, and where there is anti-social or criminal behaviour.
