Abstract

Gives advice on the amendments to the test resources for grants under Part 1 of the housing grants, construction and regeneration act 1996 which came into force on 2 April 2001. In addition it provides updated guidance on financial matters and general points of advice on the renovation grant system. It supplements DOE and DETR Circulars 17/96, 04/97, 17/97, 04/98, 06/99 and 03/2000. While it can be retained as a separate document, most of it has been set out to allow for insertion of extracts into the body of Circular 17/96. The main changes are to the test of resources through changes to the Housing renewal grants regulations 1996 (SI 1996/2829) and through updating allowances on premiums. These apply to any valid owner occupier's or tenant's application for a housing renewal grant or Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) or tenant's application for common parts grant made after 2 April 2001.
