Abstract
In positive input ventilation systems 'fresh' air is supplied by a fan into a dwelling from the roof space. They were originally developed in the 1970s to deal with condensation without adversely affecting the operation of open-flued combustion appliances. There is considerable anecdotal evidence that such systems can improve indoor humidity conditions but there have been few measurements of performance. This paper summarises the results from performance measurements made in a test house and in 15 occupied dwellings.
