Architects' Journal Refurbishment
Rayner's Mill, a Victorian brick building in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, has had a lightweight structure containing an extra floor and a curved metal roof added on, to increase the training area for the owners, Holset Engineering Company. Another building which has been extended upwards is St. Chad's Development for St. Catherine's College, Cambridge. The addition of an extra floor to the brick building has provided a further storey of copper-clad, study bedrooms.
First produced in 1895, the Architects' Journal features comprehensive building studies, and in-depth technical articles.
