Abstract

Design studios, offices, workshops and project engineering facilities for Rover group at Gaydon, Warwickshire. Flexibility in using space and the need to upgrade technology and computing systems were prime requirements, along with natural daylight; areas such as the workshops required efficient air extract to minimise the effects of dust and vapours. A high level of security was required, along with as open an environment as possible; this was achieved using a structural steel frame, curving roof, glass cladding and curtain walling. Several landscaped areas are included for viewing cars out of doors. Includes cost analysis. Working details of curved trussed roof with bull-nosed eaves. Architects: Weedon Partnership.
