Abstract
Careful erection, fixing and strapping is essential if a trussed rafter roof is to provide a sound platform for roof coverings and contribute effectively to the stability of the roof and gable ends. This guide shows the normal arrangements for fixing and strapping of domestic roofs up to 12m span. It indicates the tolerances which can be allowed during erection and how metal straps should be fitted to ensure that roof and walls act together to form a stable structure.
