Abstract

Exposure trials show the difficulty in achieving good performance from paints used for the maintenance of cleaned-up weathered surfaces. Durability of maintenance coats not only varied markedly between different paints but in some cases was also affected by the type of clean-up method used. Offering new and practical guidance on maintaining wood paintwork, this Information Paper will be invaluable to specifiers, maintenance staff, builders, DIY enthusiasts and to paint manufacturers engaged in the development of external paints for wood.
