Abstract
Intended to remind and inform designers and site supervisory staff of ways of avoiding some of the most troublesome defects which have beset Local Authority housing. This Defect Action Sheet covers dual-pitched roofs: trussed rafters - specification of remedial gussets. Failures discussed include drawing of truss tension members from nail plate connectors; and sagging of roofs. Defects discussed include metal plate not correctly positioned during manufacture, of sufficient size; and trussed rafter overloaded.
