Abstract
Provides guidance on the use of BD44, The Assessment of Concrete Highway Bridges and Structures, and should be used in conjunction with the Standard. The major part of this document is contained in Annex A which is set out in the form of a commentary on the Standard. It contains explanations for the main changes from the design code, BS 5400: Part 4, and gives advice on the interpretation of the assessment requirements.
