Abstract
Provides recommendations and guidance for the design, installation and wiring of electrical emergency lighting systems. Also considers the illumination needs for the safety of people in buildings during power supply failure to normal lighting systems. Covers emergency lighting systems providing assistance for evacuation during an emergency, as well as continuing to provide protection for occupants remaining in the building during an emergency, and enabling normal operations to continue when the supply for normal lighting fails. Also applies to lighting in areas with fixed seating.
