Abstract

CIBSE Guide B consists of five chapters and focuses on heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) service systems. It also includes a combined index. Chapter B3 covers issues within the context of air conditioning and refrigeration.

Supersedes Guide B3 'Refrigeration and air conditioning' (CIBSE, 2016). Dated June 2016. Amended January 2019: correcting minor typographical errors and incorporating corrections to pages 3-36 (equation 3.1), 3-70 (Figure 3.69), 3-98, 3-120/121 (Table 3.A2.1). 2016 version separates Guide B into five separate chapters (B0, B1, B2, B3, B4) plus a combined index.

The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers received its Royal Charter in 1976. They promote careers of building services engineers by accrediting courses of study in further and higher education, and by approving work based training programmes.
