Abstract
This guidance, developed by the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers and the Door & Hardware Federation with OPSS support, advises manufacturers and distributors of timber fire door hardware on providing clear product information to ensure safe, compatible use. Excluding products covered by harmonised or designated standards, it emphasises the need for competent selection, as hardware choices can affect fire resistance, security, smoke control and other performance factors, promoting best practice to support compliance and consumer confidence.
