Abstract
This study aims to assess the extent of overheating in modern metal-clad portal frame buildings with rooflights, focusing on temperature stratification at different levels within the occupied space. It seeks to determine how heat accumulates and distributes vertically, particularly under current construction standards. Additionally, the study explores various mitigation strategies, including natural and mechanical ventilation at high and low levels, to improve thermal comfort and reduce overheating risks in these structures.
