Abstract

Comprises a circular letter to Chief Executives detailing amendments to Approved Document B (ADB) 2019 edition incorporating 2020 and 2022 amendments, due to come into effect on 30 September 2024. Recommendations for a second staircase are to be introduced for blocks of flats with a storey 18m or more in height. Other changes include: evacuation lifts and definitions for evacuation shaft, evacuation lift lobby, interlocked stair and storey exit.
