Abstract

Details competence requirements for managing safety in residential buildings defined in the recommendations and core competence criteria set out in BSI Flex 8670. It can used as a benchmark to assess the competence of individuals performing the required activities related to the management of building safety in residential buildings; and contractors who carry out the management of building safety. It can also be applied when dutyholders and those delegating functions to others to ensure they have verified the competence of those they employ or contract.
