Abstract
Explores the idea of 20 minute neighbourhoods or 15 minute cities, which include a place for all ages, diverse and affordable homes, well connected, schools at the heart of communities, green spaces in the right places, local food production, keeping jobs and money local, community health and wellbeing facilities. Covers: the benefits and features of 20-minute neighbourhoods; principles for successful 20-minute neighbourhoods; role of new-build and retrofitting; changing policy context in England for sustainable development; and the barriers to delivering 20-minute neighbourhoods. Also includes a set of international case studies including Portland (Seattle, USA), Melbourne (Australia) and Paris (France).
