Abstract

Provides additional safety requirements for carousels of diameter greater than 500mm intended for permanent installation for use by children. Not applicable to motor-driven carousels, fairground carousels or climbing drums. Covers free height of fall and impact area, free space/falling space, user stations, axis, speed of rotation, grip handles, and load capacity and stability. Addresses type-specific requirements for rotating chairs, classic carousel, spinning mushrooms and hanging glides, track-driven carousels, and giant revolving disks.
