Abstract
Report summarising work on cements based on alternative materials to tricalcium silicate (as found in Portland cement) in order to reduce energy requirements and CO2 emissions. The primary phase of the cement discussed is based on dicalcium silicate (belite), with the other two principal phases being calcium sulfoaluminate (ye' elimite) and calcium alumino-ferrite (ferrite). This report specifically focuses on Aether cements (Lafarge-patented).
