Abstract
Introduces changes to the planning process brought in by the new National Planning Policy Framework, and aligns those processes with the RIBA Plan of Work 2013. It should form clear guidance of planning considerations at each stage of the plan and includes checklists, risk areas, information, documentation and examples of best practice of obtaining planning consent in the new policy environment.

Although there is now a RIBA Plan of Work 2020, this document can be used as the stage structure in the RIBA Plan of Work 2020 is unchanged and this guidance covers specific detail on themes or strategies in a project.
