Abstract
There has been a notable increase in fires in recycling centres, with UK fire legislation concentrating only on matters relating to life safety. These fires often result in resource problems in terms of firefighting need, water consumption and environmental damage. Explores fire safety management and guidance, options for fire fighting intervention and equipment and standardisation and certification.
