Presents the results from information gathering of real fire investigations which was used to inform changes to Approved Document B (Fire safety) for England and Wales and with occasional input to the regulatory documents in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Areas under consideration include: monitoring the effectiveness of achieving fire safety in real buildings, providing protection for firefighters, monitoring the impact of British and European Standards on building products and systems and the use of fire safety engineering approaches and understanding how unusual fires develop and grow.
