Abstract
Covers progress made in the period between 16 November 2008 and 15 November 2010 on how Building Regulations and Standards Division's (previously Sustainable Buildings Division) policies (Building Regulations) have led to improvements in environmental sustainability in the built environment. Areas covered include: building regulations made over the period and their expected impact; any planned legislation and proposals for the setting of targets in relation to sustainable buildings; the energy and carbon efficiency of the building stock; the extent to which buildings have their own facilities for generating energy; the recycling and reuse of construction materials over the period; and an estimate of the number of dwellings in England and Wales at the end of the reporting period.
