Abstract
Relates to a two storey semi-detached house built in the 1930s. The applicant had requested permission to demolish the existing attached single storey garage and to erect a new single storey side extension capable of supporting a future upper storey extension. The council rejected this on the grounds that it had requested the foundation depth and ground floor construction should be designed in accordance with a recognised guide. The applicant’s case rests on the disability of their client.
