Abstract
BB100 summarises the regulatory background and existing guidance on fire safety in schools. Using Building Regulations Approved Document B (Fire Safety) as a base line for life protection, further improvements can be made to ensure property protection is also covered in design decisions.
History
Replaces draft version produced by DFES, Designing and managing against the risk of fire in schools, 2005, which superseded DfEE BB 7 Fire and the design of educational buildings, 1988. The accompanying CD-ROM is not available through The Construction Information Service.
