Abstract
Describes in detail inventory items such as footways, cycle tracks, kerbs, edgings, highway drainage, hedges, trees etc. required to be recorded on the RMMS database. Comprises part of the RMMS Manual which provides information and guidance to maintenance agents on the operation of the Highways Agency's Routine Maintenance Management System (RMMS), which implements management procedures for routine maintenance of trunk roads.

Publisher History
The Highways Agency transformed into Highways England in 2015 and was then renamed as National Highways in 2021. The government company had responsibility for operating England's motorways and major A roads, including modernising and maintaining the highways. Their publications include the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, the Manual of Contract Documents for Road Works and Interim Advice Notes.
