Abstract
Describes a new and more appropriate classification for use in the specification of warehouse floor loading. It has been developed from work on ground-bearing concrete slabs, but it is equally applicable to the specification of suspended slabs, either at ground level or in multi-storey construction. Four loading classes are described in terms of the storage and handling equipment commonly in use in modern warehouse facilities.
