Defect Action Sheet
Abstract
Intended to remind and inform designers and site supervisory staff of ways of avoiding some of the most troublesome defects which have beset Local Authority housing. This Defect Action Sheet covers suspended timber ground floor: remedying dampness due to inadequate ventilation. Failures discussed include rot in joists, wall plates and floor boards. Defects discussed include insufficient or obstructed air bricks; and cross-flow ventilation obstructed.
